THE WATERFALLS OF MECHKINA REKA (THE BEAR’S RIVER)

The cascades on the river Mechkina reka originate from the feet of the mount Malka (the small) Syutka and flow in the northwest direction, joining with its right influx – Zaykovo dere. About a kilometer after the convergence of the rivers Mechkina and Chepinska (Bistrica) is formed a picturesque cascade of small  waterfalls, that offers a true pleasure to the lovers of the nature. Up to the waterfalls can be reached by a truck road, which climbs along the river. At the first bridge over the river the truck road ends and continues up an earth road. The waterfalls are about 200 meters away. They have to be crossed with great care, for there is no well-defined path. You should cross the river and then climb a little up the steep side slopes.
