    Description

The mineral water spring is located outside the buildings, right at the edge of the forest.

These are the oldest bathrooms in Bulgaria. They have two buildings, one for men and one for women. The buildings are not very old, but the base and the pools are the remains of a construction of the ancient walls. They have been modernized during 1923 – 1926. Throughout the years they have always been kept well and clean. Going to the bathroom for the inhabitants of Chepino was a ritual, accompanied by wine with honey and fun games in the pools. The jokes and gossips were said with closed eyes and soap, for not knowing who was telling them.

The mineral water of the district Chepino – Velingrad emerges from great depth; it is clear as crystal, hyper and slightly mineralized – 1 gr / liter .. For the healing process the most important is the presence of fluorine and metasilic acid – fluorine – 4.2 milligrams / ref. And metasilic acid – 48. Water contains mineral substances of the noble radon gas, a product of radio disintegration, which qualifies it as slightly radioactive. C p H = 9.2, the temperature T = 42 ° C, with the silicon-fluorohydrocarbon-sulphate content, with a substantial amount of sodium, potassium and calcium.

Radon is proved that has an anti-inflammatory effect and increases the formation of vitamins in the body. It affects the nervous and cardiovascular systems, as well diseases of the respiratory system and metabolism. Being treated with radon-containing water, after several procedures, the patient feels better. The mineral water of Chepino, in addition to treatments with baths, is used for inhalations and influences several diseases when drinking it.
