THE AREA OF ULITCHKITE (THE ALLEYS)

The area “Ulichkite” (The alleys) is located 5 km northwest of Velingrad, at the foot of Elin vrah peak. It represents a complex of capricious rocks, which are at an altitude of 1100 meters, between beautiful meadows and an oak forest. On the rocks you can see many carved signs, suggesting that they served as sanctuary in the past. Untill now a days there has been no archaeological investigation of the site. In the meadow between the rocks has been put an improvised shelter, where in bad weather can haver 10-15 people. Up to “The alleys” takes a route from Velingrad, marked in green (1,5 hours), that passes through the areas “Gergevana” and “Stariyat chark”.
