    Description

The peak Milevi skali is known with the battle of 4 September 1944 between the governmental forces and the partisan squads “Chepinets” and “Angel Kánchev”. In memory of the fallen partisans a monument is erected, and a commemorative plaque with the names of the dead is placed at the side. In 1968 the area was declared a historical monument of national importance.

“Milevi skali” is a peak of the Alabak hill in the western Rhodopes. It is a rocky summit that rises to 1593.5 meters above sea level.

At the foot of the peak, on an area of 115.1 hectares, in the zone of the villages Draginovo and Semchinovo, extends the protected area “Milevi skali.” It was proclaimed “protected area” in 2003 in order to preserve the forests and the scenic landscapes of the region. It is a  part of the protected area “Yadenitsa.”
