Description
The church-ossuary of St. Nedelya, built in 1813 in the town of Batak, today is only a museum. The church is associated with The Insurrection against the Ottoman Empire in April 1876. This church has been the last bastion of the revolutionaries, whose resistance has led to the massacre of Batak later. Here the bones of the murdered men, women and children are kept. The church-ossuary of St. Nedelya is a pantheon of the Bulgarians sacrifice for the national liberation.
